Murdoch's Thomas Craig
Show Notes

You know Thomas Craig as Inspector Brackenreid on Murdoch Mysteries, back for a 15th season on CBC. The Sheffield, England, native has been keeping the constables and detective William Murdoch (played by Yannick Bisson) in line for over 200 episodes. But did you know that Craig also logged over 200 episodes in two-and-a-half years as Tommy Harris on the world's longest-running TV serial, Coronation Street?
Get to know Craig a little better as he talks about his past TV roles in England, including a memorable one on a series which starred Edward Woodward, "Common as Muck."
The avid English football fan also hints at a few upcoming storylines on Murdoch this season, including one that intersects with a real-life historical character -- Toronto-born silent film star Mary Pickford.  The Murdoch writers have apparently hooked up "America's Sweetheart" with one of the regular characters on the series in what can only be described as an early "sex tape" (although it would have been shot on film in those days). Craig says an intimacy coach was even brought to the set to coach the actors through their TV tryst!
Craig also says that while he and co-star Jonny Harris (Constable Crabtree) hear praise for their comedy chops, Bisson does not get enough credit for playing an excellent straight man. He also shares the name of the TV show he's hooked on watching now as well as what series first grabbed his attention as a youngster growing up in The UK.
